Put your Handbag Cares behind You

For practical minded women, the leather backpack or rucksack is replacing the handbag. Designed with the same stylish appeal as a purse, these leather backpacks serve the same function as a large handbag except that they leave the hands free for other activities. Even a shoulder bag hinders the movement and free action of one arm, but the new rucksack style purses are worn on the back with a secure strap over each shoulder leaving it completely out of the way.

These are perfect for women with a more active lifestyle who enjoy activities like biking, walking the dog, or other outdoor activities. With a conventional purse, ladies often had to make a choice between being encumbered and struggling to bring the purse along or just fishing out an ID and a credit card before they left the house. The rucksack eliminates the necessity for that decision since it can go everywhere you need to go without getting in the way or becoming a burden.

More than once, a handbag has been left behind in a store while shopping. That’s because it gets in the way. When you pick up an item of clothing to examine it, you have little choice but to put down the handbag. After a few repetitions of this it is easy to forget to pick it back up before you move along. When you finally do remember that your purse is missing, you have to rush back and hope that it’s still where you left it. If not, then perhaps it has been turned in to the lost and found. A backpack style pocketbook makes sure that you are never faced with this problem again.

A pocketbook worn on the back is also a more secure option. With two straps worn over the shoulders, it is virtually impossible for a purse-snatcher to grab the purse and run. Secure fasteners and sturdy flaps prevent pickpockets from gaining access from behind.

When you do want to wear your pocketbook in the usual shoulder bag fashion, you can put both straps together and wear it over one shoulder. Most backpack type pocketbooks have adjustable length straps so that they can not only be worn in several different ways, but can be adjusted to comfortably fit a wide range of body types.

Durable leather rucksacks are made to last decades with proper care and the fact that it is worn on the back prevents many of the scrapes and tears to which an ordinary handbag would be exposed. That’s a good thing because once they try it, the ease and convenience of wearing a backpack compared to a clutch purse, or shoulder bag convinces most women to stay with the rucksack permanently.
